We recently completed a residential refurbishment project in Wallasey for We Are Juno CIC, a not-for-profit children’s care provider.
The revamped building will provide a nurturing home for children in care. It looks and feels like a family home, with individual bedrooms and shared communal spaces for eating and activities; somewhere the children can feel safe and supported to thrive.
The scheme has been co-designed with local care experienced young people and strives to better meet the needs of Wirral children, allowing more children in care to stay close to their families, friends and schools.
Each young person will have their own bedroom and ensuite, and access to a shared kitchen, living rooms and a communal garden. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and we’ve left Juno with a blank canvas, meaning the Juno team and the children can get creative to make the space their own.
Our in-house Development Team located and purchased the property, and led the project team to manage the refurbishment works.
M&Y Maintenance and Construction, which is part of The Regenda Group, led the refurbishment of the property, installing a new kitchen and bathrooms, replacing the roof and providing decoration and flooring throughout.
The new residential scheme will be managed by We Are Juno CIC.
Lauren Huggon, Development Project Manager at The Regenda Group, said: “It’s been brilliant to work with Juno to bring fresh and modern residential children’s accommodation to the area.
“As a regeneration business, we exist to support people in our communities and this scheme will do just that. We’ve created a place where young people can thrive, where they can stay in the area as part of their community and close to their support networks.”
Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction, said: “I am so proud that we’ve refurbished this property to create a beautiful home for children and young people in Wallasey. We are passionate about making a difference in our communities, and this project will make a huge impact on the children who will live here on their path to independence.”
