Our recent apprentice away day took hands on experience to the next level.
Apprenticeships at Regenda are always varied and exciting and a recent trip to Trafford Hall in Chester, was no exception.
On 20th September 2022, apprentices from across the Regenda Group ventured into the great outdoors for a day of team building with a difference! With activities ranging from hostage negotiation to learning to deal with incidents that require urgent medical attention, the attendees learned a host of skills including team building, communication, adaptability and working under pressure, in a way that they will always remember.
At Regenda, part of our core purpose is to create opportunities for everyone – and this extends to staff. By creating situations where our apprentices can build on their skills and learn from each other, we empower them to become the best version of their true authentic selves.
Experiences like this which encourage all apprentices to push themselves out of their comfort zone and bring new skills, talents and ideas to our organisation.
On the day, apprentices were joined by Regenda colleagues and speakers from various other industries to offer information, advice and guidance. This included ex Parachute regiment officer, Martin Hewitt, who drew on his experiences and skills in military operations and elite sports. He helped the apprentices understand the importance of teamwork, how to maximise performance and deal with adversity and challenges.
Head of Regenda Learning and Development and event organiser, Danielle Soens-Hughes said
“As one of the few organisations that continued to recruit apprentices during the pandemic, we understand the positive impact that bringing fresh and new talent into a business can have. To deliver the event we utilised Government incentive funding that resulted in a fun-filled day, which provided important skills and networking opportunities for our new recruits – skills that will help our apprentices to flourish at Regenda and beyond. It is a privilege to support them on their journey.”
From digital content apprentices to maintenance and accountancy, all apprentices found the day insightful, with one delegate stating:
“I’ve gained confidence in trying new things. I realise we are always learning, and I will take away skills that I can use to communicate with customers and in everyday life.”
Regenda currently have 28 apprentices on a variety of programmes across the Group. We look forward to hosting more events like this in our continued effort to grow and support talent.
