More than sixty local school children are feeling positive, inspired and confident about their future thanks to a special event at Fazakerley Primary School.
Staff from The Regenda Group recently supported a Career Carousel event as part of a partnership between Cobalt Housing and Positive Footprints, designed to give children an insight into the world of work and raise their hopes and dreams for the future. It’s all about raising aspirations!
At the event, pupils had the opportunity to explore different career paths by speaking to professionals from organisations including The Regenda Group, Cobalt Housing , Brabners and Ecogee.
Our teams gave up time to meet the children and talk about their career, their organisation and what they do at work.
Working with Cobalt is a brilliant example of our Group’s core purpose – regenerating places and creating opportunities for people to thrive.
Last year, the partnership between Positive Footprints and Cobalt Housing created over £103,896 in social value for communities in Liverpool, impacting over fifteen schools and 675 children and young people.
The Positive Footprints Raising Aspirations Programme in schools is funded by businesses using their corporate social responsibility budgets to make a difference to the neighbourhoods they operate in.
Jo Norwood, Customer Relationship Manager at Positive Footprints, said: “We’ve had a great day opening up the world of work at Fazakerley Primary School. There’s nothing quite like bringing children together to pose their questions to industry professionals!
“The investment Cobalt are making to support children and young people in their communities shows how much they care. This event is part of our continued partnership and our shared belief in investing in children’s future, and we look forward to future activity together.”
Claire Griffiths, CEO of Cobalt Housing said, “We have worked with Positive Footprints for over five years and we have come to realise the valuable role that Housing providers like us play in developing partnerships with schools. The Raising Aspirations event supports two of our core objectives in our Corporate Plan, encouraging the development of Positive People and supporting the growth of young people in our communities.”
“We are proud of what the children of Fazakerley Primary School have achieved, but also in how their self-confidence and ambition has grown throughout the aspirations programme,” said Claire.
Emma Riley, Marketing and Communications Manager at The Regenda Group, said: “Visiting the school and speaking to children about my role has been so much fun. It’s rewarding to be able to step away from my desk to meet and inspire young people who will be the workforce of the future.”
Harper, one of the pupils at the event said: “I’ve loved today learning about lots of different types of jobs. I’ve learned a lot and I want to do a job that lets me help people.”
Thanks to Harper and all the children at Fazakerley Primary School for a great morning!
