St Martins development scoops Inside Housing award after delivering £588k in social impact!

We are excited to announce that our St Martins Development has won the Best Partnership category at the 2024 Inside Housing Development Awards!

St Martins is a collaborative development between The Regenda GroupM&Y Maintenance and ConstructionRedwing, the Parish Church Council of Broughton, and Paddock Johnson Partnership.

Completed in September 2023, the St Martins project delivers affordable housing options and an energy-efficient new-build chapel and parish hall in Fulwood, Preston. The development by M&Y Maintenance and Construction built 5 houses and 9 apartments for Rent to Buy through Redwing on unused land around the chapel.

By collaborating with the Church, local community, and our subcontractors, we delivered over £588k in social impact initiatives!

Staff from across The Regenda Group and M&Y Maintenance and Construction used volunteering days to help with planting and landscaping for the chapel building, donations to local food banks and spend within the local supply chain.

Engaging with local schools enabled us to connect young people with the world of regeneration and sustainable construction as a career.

Inside Housing shared:
“St Martins demonstrates real creativity in thinking around ways to use community engagement to support the wider success of the scheme. It provides an excellent example of partnership working to deliver social value and the judges were impressed by the opportunities the scheme provides to bring the community together”

Lauren Huggon, Project Manager at The Regenda Group said:
“We’re delighted to be recognised in the Inside Housing Development Awards. St Martins is a significant development for the local community in Fulwood, creating access to affordable Rent to Buy housing with a community focus. The impact of these much needed homes, newly built chapel and parish hall is amazing. It’s enriched the neighbourhood bringing many benefits to the area, including opportunities for local children, young people and adults.”

Canon Andrea, Titterington, Broughton PCC said:
“The quality of Regenda’s work and testimonies were outstanding. Our partnership has been positive, supportive, and productive throughout the 5-year project timescale, which included the COVID pandemic. M&Y undertook school workshops on construction which were valued by the parish school. Support was given to the Preston Food Bank, our move into the new building and the community planting day .This has been a model of partnership, and the proof is in the quality of the end product for the Broughton Parish and Fulwood’s community.”
