What was once a vacant, overgrown site in West Derby, Liverpool, is now the home of our vibrant multi-tenure development Summerfield Close – which has made the shortlist for Affordable Housing Development of The Year at the 2025 Northern Housing Awards!
Completed in March 2025, the £5.2M development was delivered in collaboration between The Regenda Group, M&Y Maintenance and Construction, Redwing and Regenda Homes, bringing 22 new and affordable homes to the area. Summerfield Close is a multi-tenure development providing people with a choice of affordable housing options, with 18 homes available for Affordable Rent with Regenda Homes and 4 homes for sale through Shared Ownership with Redwing.
The homes were incredibly popular, with all four Shared Ownership houses sold by Redwing within a week of launch, and Affordable Rent apartments let off-plan through Property Pool Plus!
A Redwing buyer explained how the scheme gave them a chance to live in a property they “couldn’t have afforded with a traditional mortgage,” with the lower deposit via Shared Ownership making all the difference.
Another couple, living with accessibility needs, moved from a 1-bed apartment with no outdoor space to a 2-bedroom home with garden access and a full wet room – they were “delighted with the quality of the property.”
Designed with diversity and sustainability in mind, Summerfield Close provides high-quality homes that meet the varying needs of local people, helping to address the urgent demand for affordable housing in the area.
Houses and apartments at Summerfield Close have been thoughtfully designed with sustainability at its heart and the development exceed Nationally Described Space Standards (NDSS). Features include air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, prioritising natural light during design and triple glazing to reduce noise pollution and keep homes cosy.
The development also has a strong focus on wellbeing, featuring communal gardens, deck-access walkways and green landscaping, encouraging residents to get to know their neighbours and create true sense of community.
